Pull Ups Battle Cancer at the Norwegian CrossFit Championship
Functional fitness fundraising movement, Battle Cancer, is proud to be taking its cause to the Norwegian mountains in partnership with the Norwegian CrossFit Championship.
Together, Battle Cancer and the Norwegian CrossFit Championship aim is to complete an epic challenge of 33,000 pull ups – representing the number of people that are diagnosed with cancer each year in Norway.
Running the pull up challenge over the weekend of the 15th and 16th of February, Battle Cancer will be encouraging athletes and spectators to donate 60 Krone and contribute as many pull ups as they can to the total. True to Battle Cancer’s accessible and inclusive ethos, there will be scaled options for all to get involved. Proceeds will be donated to the Norwegian Cancer Society.
Founder and Director of Battle Cancer, Scott Britton, will also be leading a mixed team in the Elite Division made up of CrossFit Regionals athlete, Lauren Calvert, CrossFit Games athlete, Kelly Friel, and top 100 UK CrossFit Open athlete, James Dollah. Battle Cancer’s team will be powered by WIT Fitness, Battle Cancer’s headline partner for 2020.
“We’re honoured to be invited by the Norwegian CrossFit Championship to deliver a Battle Cancer challenge in Norway for the Norwegian Cancer Society. We can’t wait to see athletes take on our pull up challenge as well as show some heart as Team Battle Cancer on the competition floor.”
Norwegian CrossFit Championship Director, Roger Grillos, commented:
“I’m so happy for this opportunity! For me it was a no brainer when our roads crossed. To use our fantastic CF Community in the fight against cancer. I will do my share of pull ups, will you? Let’s Battle Cancer together!”
